The Sandcastle Girls

The Sandcastle Girls - This was a beautiful historical fiction novel about an ugly event. This book is about the little remembered Armenian Genocide. I did not know about the Armenian Genocide before reading this book and was horrified about it. I will definitely be looking more into it after reading this book.At times I was so lost in this novel that it really seemed like someone's memoir to me and not a fiction book. Chris Bohjalian definitely researched well into the topic and it clearly shows in the story. I loved reading from the perspectives of all the different characters and learning about their different experiences.I do have to say that towards the end of the book my interest waned a bit, and it seemed hurried to me. I would recommend this to fans of historical fiction and those interested in learning more about the Armenian Genocide.
