I was a little disappointed in this book. I really enjoyed the first book in the series and was looking forward to reading more about Joseph O'Loughlin. I was surprised to find out that this book revolves around Detective Inspector Ruiz instead of Joseph O'Loughlin. I still had hard feelings towards Detective Inspector Ruiz from the way he treated Joe in the last book. So then it was hard for me to connect with him and feel sorry for him in the beginning. The plot was interesting and did have some great twists and turns. I do feel as though this one was similar to the first book in the way the main character is searching for the truth and certain people around them don't believe in them and actually suspect them of crimes. I'm hoping the next book strays off that familiar path. Overall it was a good read and I would recommend it to those who liked the first book. I am looking forward to reading more of this series.
