Shadow of Doubt (Carol Childs Mysteries, #1)
Usually I like to start my reviews off with a quote from the book but I was so wrapped up in this book that I never highlighted any passages from it on my Kindle. This was the perfect mix of mystery and suspense that had me constantly guessing who was behind it all. This grabbed my attention from the beginning and never let it go.
At times this book seemed to be filled with characters that weren't very likeable. Luckily the main character, Carol Childs, was extremely likeable. I love how determined she was to find out what happened. I also have to say that I loved the relationships she had with her son, Charlie, and her FBI Agent boyfriend, Eric. There were a lot of the secondary characters that I just didn't like (especially Carol's boss Tyler) but those characters were definitely balanced out by interesting and likable characters (especially Misty).
I had many guesses while reading this book as to who I thought committed the murders (some more far-fetched than others). I did manage to figure it out a little bit before Carol did but what I couldn't figure out was the why. I loved all the drama and action towards the end and am eager to read the next installment in the series as this one did leave some things unresolved. Thanks to NetGalley and Henery Press for the galley.
