Reading progress update: I've read 46%.
I'm not sure who annoys me more in this book, Adam and Alice's Aunt Cynthia or the wild kids. Cynthia's lawyer, Arthur, put it best when he said this about Cynthia:
The sister is a piece of work. There is something fanatical in her loneliness.
And then what he said shortly after that:
He is somewhat surprised by how little sympathy he has for her.
You and me both, buddy. I just think Cynthia is so pathetic. But at least she uses correct grammar and makes sense when she speaks. I definitely can't say the same for the wild kids. I am trying to read this as fast as I can just to be done with it already.
