Bridges Burned

Bridges Burned - Annette Dashofy
Autopsies always made such romantic mealtime conversation.

I loved the previous two books in this series so I was surprised when I ended up not liking this one all that much. It is kind of hard to like a book when you want to throttle the main character. I hated Zoe in this book. She acted like a moody teenager throughout the book. She became obsessed with Maddie, who had just lost her mother, and it got to be annoying. I just couldn't stand her when she kept trusting a stranger over Pete. It seemed like everyone blamed Pete for their troubles but I blamed Zoe. Ugh she just made me want to throw my Kindle.

It really wasn't all that hard to figure out who was the murderer. I didn't really know the why but I knew the who pretty early on. The investigation into the murders had its bright spots (some of the action towards the end) but there was a ton of people just bumbling about. Pete seemed to be a bit in over his head and Zoe wasn't helping things.

Clearly this was not my favorite in the series but I hope that I enjoy what comes next in the series. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the galley.
