The Sound of Murder

The Sound of Murder (An Ivy Meadows Mystery Book 2) - Cindy Brown

I enjoyed this book even more than I enjoyed the first book in the series. Ivy is back and she is still working at her uncle's PI agency but this time she is in a production called The Sound of Cabaret (which is an awesome mashup of The Sound of Music and Cabaret). After an accident at her apartment Ivy finds herself living in a retirement community and going on dates with a hunky fireman, Jeremy.

Ivy is a character that I really like reading about. I love getting to read about the work she does for her uncle's PI agency and her acting. She seemed to have a hard time balancing the two and also leaving time to hang out with her brother. I really liked her relationship with Jeremy and was really rooting for it. I also really loved that Ivy finally got to do detective work on her own.

I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed that The Sound of Music and Cabaret were mashed up in this. I found the songs in this to be hilarious at times. I would seriously consider going to see The Sound of Cabaret if it was a real musical.

I didn't figure out who was behind everything and why they did it because I was so wrapped up in the story that I didn't even try to guess. I enjoyed the ending and overall enjoyed where each of the characters ended up. Thanks to Netgalley and Henery Press for the galley.
