In the Garden of Beasts: Love, Terror, and an American Family in Hitler's Berlin

In the Garden of Beasts: Love, Terror, and an American Family in Hitler's Berlin - Erik Larson This was an interesting look into Dodd's time as Ambassador to Germany. Throughout most of this book I found myself annoyed at some of the actions of Dodd. If he was so concerned about what Hitler was doing why didn't he speak up more when he was in Germany. I just felt like he didn't do enough. I found his daughter Martha to be absolutely disgusting. What a horrible way to represent not only yourself but your country. I would recommend this book for those wanting to read more about Dodd and America's reaction to Hitler in the years before World War II.
