Obsessed: America's Food Addiction--and My Own
Mika definitely comes off as obsessed in this book. She has an obsession to be and stay thin, and she has an obsession with helping America conquer obesity. As an overweight woman (or as Mika would say, fat) I came into reading this book thinking 'what would a skinny chick know about struggling with weight and eating?' From what she reveals in this book she has struggled with things that I am very familiar with (although I have to admit that I have never eaten a whole box of cereal in one sitting, nor have I ever contemplated it). While I liked reading about Mika and Diane's stories, the parts of the book talking about the research Mika has done read more like a term paper than a book. Don't even get my started on the whole block quoting thing. It was completely unnecessary and distracting. Overall I felt this book was good but Mika seemed a bit too preachy at times.
