Letters from Skye: A Novel

Letters from Skye - Jessica Brockmole I expected a little bit more from this book. The summary of this book was really good so I had high hopes for this debut. I wanted and thought that Elspeth and her daughter's situation would sort of be a mirror of each other but Margaret really didn't have a problem like her mother's. Margaret seemed put in this story only to help reveal her mother's past. I would have liked to have read more from Margaret about her life, specifically about her childhood.Originally I did like Elspeth and Davey as characters but the further I got into this book the more I started to dislike them. They are selfishly trapped in their own fantasy world with no regard for the consequences of their actions.I expected a great ending that would have me in tears but this ending just seemed too predictable. Overall this book is okay. What it really has going for it is that it is written entirely in letters, I felt that that made it more interesting and that it enhanced the story.[I received this book from a Goodreads first reads giveaway. The content of my review is not affected by that.]
