The Clover House: A Novel
I am still conflicted on whether I should give this book three or four stars. I liked reading this book but I didn't love it. The main reason why I didn't love this book is because for most of this book Callie's mother, Clio, is so unlikable that I hated reading chapters from her point of view. At the end of the book I did have some sympathy for Clio but still didn't like her all that much. Callie and her journey to find out what truly happened when her mother was young was the saving part of this book. I do have to say that the book did seem a bit long and that Callie's journey dragged on too long. I would recommend this book for its descriptions of the setting (Greece) and the celebration of Greek culture. [I received this book from a Librarything Early Reviewers Giveaway. That does not affect the content of my review in any way.]
