SPOILER ALERT!

The Maze Runner

The Maze Runner - James Dashner

Warning: My review will contain some spoilers.

This book had been recommended to me many times and I have now just gotten around to reading it. I am mad that I waited so long. I've read and enjoyed some dystopia books and I have to say that this is one of the better dystopia books that I have read. One of my favorite parts about this book was the characters. I really loved and felt like I connected with Thomas and Chuck. I really loved Thomas and Chuck's friendship.

Overall I feel that Dashner did a really good job describing the scenery but there was one thing that I couldn't visualize in my mind, the grievers. I just couldn't imagine the slug-like creature with steel arms and knives and weapons.

I really enjoyed the plot while they were in the Glade but once they finally escaped at the end I wasn't too sure I liked where the plot was going.

I was so distraught when Chuck dived in front of the knife saving Thomas' life, and just when he finally made it out of the Glade. Gah.

(show spoiler)

I would recommend this book if you are interested in reading a good dystopia book, especially if you liked The Hunger Games. I have already picked up the next book in the series from the library and plan to start it soon.
